Experience Corps members serve as tutors and mentors to children in urban public schools and after-school programs, where they help teach children to read and develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
Senior Corps connects adults who are 55 and older with the people and organizations that need them most. Senior Corps helps them become mentors, coaches, or companions to people in need, or contribute their job skills and expertise to community projects and organizations.
Volunteers of America is dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. VOA supports and empowers America's most vulnerable--working to alleviate suffering, provide shelter and ultimately touch the mind, body and spirit of those we serve.

Your local newspaper is a great resource for finding community and civic groups in your area. Use the Internet to locateresources by typing into the search "Community and Civic Groups your city and state." Old interests or new hobbies, these groups are looking for new members.

Facebook - Facebook is a social networking site designed to give people the power to share and connect with their world.
Vibrant Nation - VibrantNation.com is the leading online community devoted exclusively to the influential and fast-growing demographic of smart and successful women over 50. At Vibrant Nation, these women (whom we've named "Vibrant Women") can look for tips, share information, and join in smart conversations about work, style, relationships, wellness, books, and more.
Seniorocity - Seniorocity: The Online Community for Adults was developed to provide a Social Network geared towards Mature Adults and Seniors. We looked at the current state of online communities and quickly realized that there was no real opportunity for adults and seniors to interact online in a community focused solely on them.
